I’m adding a category of posts called Nope. There is a class of theological missteps comprising false assumptions that get repeated so often they manage to turn into undefended statements of fact, even in ostensibly edited works that should have higher standards.
“In the opening chapters of Genesis, we discover that there is also fellowship within the Godhead: “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness” (Gen. 1:26). Here we see the triune God taking counsel and planning.” (Frank Viola, Reimagining Church)
Is the Creator the Triune God?
Is there any way to defend exegetically the notion that Gen 1:26 is making that claim?
